Labourers die as flood-hit house collapses on them

Two labourers were today killed when a flood-hit house collapsed while being dismantled in a posh locality here, police said.
Bashir Ahmad Khuroo and Ghulam Mohammad, both residents of Noorbagh locality of the city, suffered critical injuries due to house collapse at Nursing Garh in Balgarden area of central Srinagar this morning, a police officer said.
He said both the labourers were evacuated to hospital where they succumbed to injuries.
The duo were busy dismantling the single storey house of Abdul Gani Wani when the house collapsed all of a sudden trapping them, the spokesman said adding the rescuers immediately swung into action and managed to evacuate them to hospital.

Wani's house had suffered extensive damage during the last year devastating floods, he said.
