Vimla Bisht, a resident of Dharchula area in Pithoragarh was stabbed to death by her boyfriend, Navin Singh (25), with a knife in Bhotia Parao area, police said.
According to Ram Singh Mehta, Incharge of Haldwani police station,Navin took the alleged step due to a "change in Vimla's behaviour" after she was recruited into ITBP.
The accused escaped from his rented house where he had called the victim, after the neighbours informed the police after hearing screams emanating from the lodging, Mehta said, adding Navin was later arrested from the Haldwani bus stand.
The accused also suspected that Vimla was having an affair with someone else, Mehta added.
