Anirban Lahiri managed some damage control on the back nine, but came back with only an even par 70 that pushed him to Tied-45th at the end of the third round of The RSM Classic here today.
The 28-year-old Indian, who had 68-67 in first two rounds had an early birdie to start with but then had three bogeys to finish two-over for the front nine.
But those two were made up for as he ended the day at even par.
Mackenzie Hughes atoned for a triple bogey that cost him the lead by making a tough par save and three birdies for a 2-under 68, giving the Canadian rookie a one-shot advantage going into the final round.
He will be in the final group with Billy Horschel and Camilo Villegas.
Joining them at 15-under 197 was another PGA TOUR rookie, CT Pan. He shot a 67 playing in the final group.
Ten players were within four shots of the lead, a group that included Charles Howell III (13-under 199) and Stewart Cink (12-under 200).
