Lajja, Anjum through to women's 3P qualification

India's Lajja Gauswami and Anjum Moudgil booked their respective qualification round slots in the women's 50-metre rifle 3 positions event on day three of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup here today.
Lajja shot 576 to finish 19th in her elimination relay, while Anjum scored 574 to end 23rd in her relay. Both will vie for a place in the eight-woman final of the rifle/pistol world tournament at the Olympic Shooting Centre.
Among other Indians in the fray, Gurpreet Singh finished 26th in the men's 25-metre rapid fire pistol with a score of 573. Harpreet Singh and Akshay Suhas Ashtaputre shot 568 and 545 respectively to finish in 36th and 52nd spots.
In the men's 50-metre rifle prone, Olympic-bound Chain Singh shot 624.3 to end in 29th place, while London Olympics bronze medallist Gagan Narang shot 620.6 to finish 52nd.
Besides the women's 3P finals, day four will also see the men's 10-metre air pistol finals with four Indians -- Jitu Rai, Gurpreet Singh, Prakash Nanjappa and Omkar Singh -- in the fray.
