"The TNA is aiming to revive separatist terrorism and drag the country back into an era of violence and bloodshed", Basil Rajapaksa, the economic development minister, said during a campaign in the north western province.
He said the TNA victory in the north is expected to be projected by the main Tamil party as a mandate to divide the island.
The government has taken the TNA to task for its Tamil nationalist manifesto for the north.
Elections for the three provincial assemblies are to be held on September 21.
The main Tamil party, accused of being a proxy for the LTTE in their election manifesto, is asking the Tamils to vote as the party wants to revive Tamil nationalism by reiterating their demand for self determination in the Tamil regions.
