Lakshya Sen qualifies for main draw of Tata Open

Lakshya Sen today qualified for the main draw of men's singles, commencing tomorrow, of the USD 17,500 Tata Open India International Challenge tournament at the Cricket Club of India's courts here.
Sen, who trains in Bengaluru at the Prakash Padukone Academy, reached the main draw with back-to-back wins over Singapore's Jin Kai Xu and compatriot Manish Gupta.
He won both matches in straight games, beating Xu 11-5 11-5 11-6 and then following it up with a 11-5 11-5 11-3 score to down Gupta.
Joining Sen in the main draw were five other Indians - Mithun Manjunath, Kartikey Gulshan Kumar, N V S Vijetha, Oscar Bansal and Munawar Mohammed.
