The batsman, who has been training at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai, has signed up with Brigade CC of Northern Ireland.
Last year, Digvijay played first class cricket in Sri Lanka. Playing four games, Amarnath scored close to 140 runs with a highest of 62 in his maiden first-class season which also happened to be his maiden overseas tour.
Impressed with his batting ability, he was called to Sri Lanka this year too to be a part of the first-class tournament but citing a big breakthrough here in India in the form of the high-profile IPL, he decided to give it a miss.
Amarnath is now all set to go to England on a five-month tour and has been busy making preparations for the same.
"Playing in England will be a different experience and I look to carry the experience back with me to India which would help me to play better in Indian conditions," Digvijay said.
