While JD(U) and its ally BJP were locked in fight over elevation of Narendra Modi as party campaign committee chief for 2014 Parliamentary elections, Prasad was in Maharashtra visiting temples at Shirdi and Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple.
Prasad in his reaction has said that "it was a love marriage between JD(U) and BJP which has gone soured resulting in divorce now."
Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui told PTI that the party is watching the "political drama" within NDA closely.
Hitting out at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the wake of reports of his party allegedly poaching on BJP MLAs and luring Independents for support in the event of split, Siddiqui said this exposed the "real face of Mr clean (Nitish Kumar)."
"Mr clean has been clean bowled as the recent events of unholy practises to save his government showed," he added.
Split in NDA would have effect on RJD too as it would loose the position of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly to BJP which has 91 MLAs against RJD's 22 in the current Assembly.
