BJP today termed as "comprehensive one" the land bill brought by the party-led NDA government and said Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's understanding on the issue was "faulty".
BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra also said that the land bill would help in the overall development of the country.
"Rahul Gandhi's understanding of the bill is a faulty one. When the land bill was passed during the UPA regime in 2013, even the Congress chief ministers had felt that there should be changes in it. The bill that the Congress had brought would not allow irrigation projects to be completed," Patra told reporters.
"As the Prime Minister has promised that not an inch of land will be given to any corporate house. So, definitely the land bill is not only pro-poor, but has also included the 13 clauses, increased the compensation," Patra said.
Patra while highlighting the achievements of the Modi government said the country had witnessed a paradigm shift from "silent government to a more pro-active government".
He claimed that there was a paradigm shift in governance - from a silent government during the Manmohan Singh regime to a more pro-active government during the Narendra Modi's regime.
"Whether it's security, foreign policy or economy, the country has made progress in all the sectors," Patra noted, saying that the zero tolerance on corruption had reaped benefits and that in one year there was not a single case of corrupt deal in the government.
