Kalicharan had allegedly raped the girl, the daughter of his tenant, at knife-point when she was alone at her house in Parvatiya Colony on January 3.
According to her father, the family had gone out when the Kalicharan committed the crime and threatened the girl with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone.
The father said the police did not file a case immediately, and did so only when they threatened to go to the media.
When asked about the delay in filing the case, Singh the family came today only.
