The landslides hit parts of Jayapura, the capital of the province, after heavy rains last night, said national disaster agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho.
They engulfed buildings in the city, leaving 15 houses badly damaged and 40 houses lightly damaged, he said.
Deadly landslides and flooding are common during the vast archipelago's six-month rainy season.
Widespread flooding in the capital Jakarta in January left five people dead and more than 60,000 displaced.
