Later, trade unions claimed that the bandh was successful
Press Trust of Indiaand affected normal life in the state. A joint statement by the unions said the strike was "completely successful" and made an environment against the union government's anti-labour policies. A public meeting was also held at Shahid memorial where the trade union leaders addressed workers and employees and asked the government to fulfil their demands. Police said no untoward incident took place in the state during the strike.
