The BJP leader made the comment in Vrindavan during a rally to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday.
"The law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is better since there is no patronage to criminals. Earlier, criminals used to get away as they had patronage from the government. Now, they are being sent to jail," Pandey told reporters.
He said the party acts as a bridge between government and the people, and it was the responsibility of BJP workers to take welfare schemes to the last person.
