Responding to queries, Chandy said, "Law will take its own course in connection with the Surayanelli gangrape case."
To a query on the allegation of veteran CPI(M) leader V S Achuthanandan that some top persons have connection in the case, Chandy said he (Achuthanandan) had been telling various things each day.
Replying to another query whether there was any lapse on the part of the government, Chandy said, "No. Government had also given the appeal."
The Supreme Court had today set aside Kerala High Court's order acquitting 35 accused in the case. The court passed the order on an appeal filed by the State of Kerala challenging the acquittal.
