Police said that 40-year-old Jaiveer Sharma, a lawyer who had been practising in Ghaziabad court, was strangulated by driver Vindod and his cousin Deepak, who were arrested soon after the murder.
According to police, Vinod used to suspect Sharma of having an affair with his wife.
"Vinod told police that his employer had an extra-marital affair with his wife following which he hatched a plan to kill Sharma. To execute his plan, Vinod also involved his cousin Deepak," said a senior police official.
"As per plan, when Sharma was going to court, Deepak met Vinod on the way and asked him if he could sit in the car. Sharma didn't object to Deepak's sitting in the vehicle. When they reached Bhudgadi area of Masuri, they strangulated him," the official said.

"After killing him, Vinod asked Deepak to go away, and then approached SSP, saying that some unidentified armed assailants shot at his boss though Sharma's body didn't have any bullet injuries. When police strictly interrogated Vinod, he broke down and confessed to killing Sharma," he added.
After the murder, Ghaziabad Bar Association called for a one-day strike today following which work was affected in several courts.
