Lazu remains cut off due to rains

Lazu circle falling in Arunachal's Tirap district remained cut off from rest of the world for the last three months following massive landslides, triggering crisis of food and essentials.
The people of the circle are facing acute problems due to shortages in food stuff and other essential commodities as the roads were blocked, District Information and Public Relations officer D Bosai said today.
Khonsa West MLA Tirong Aboh and Tirap Deputy Commissioner Kamlesh Kumar Joshi accompanied by Commandant BRTF Major Salil Jain visited the blockade points at Lazu and conducted a public meeting yesterday.
Aboh urged the BRTF and the district administration for immediate restoration of the road.
He assured to apprise the state government of the problem and for immediate relief and also stated if the BRTF charted out an alternate road as a permanent solution.
Joshi also emphasized on restoration of the road and urged the villagers not to indulge into boulder extraction during the winter season.
