Lead edges up on better demand

In restricted activity, lead prices edged higher by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today on improved demand from consuming industries.
However, other base metals moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled at previous levels.
Traders said pick up in demand from battery-makers led to the rise in lead prices.
In the national capital, lead ingot and lead imported were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 74 and Rs 80 per kg respectively.
Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):
Zinc ingot Rs 98-104, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 845-850, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 369, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 74, lead imported Rs 80, aluminium ingots Rs 155, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 151, aluminium wire scrap Rs 151 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 149.
