Lead prices went up by 0.99 per cent to Rs 122.85 per kg in futures trade today after traders enlarged their positions amid pick up in demand at domestic spot markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July rose by Rs 1.20 or 0.99 per cent to Rs 122.85 per kg in a business turnover of 834 lots.
The metal for delivery in August edged up by Rs 1.15 or 0.94 per cent to Rs 123.70 per kg in 17 lots.
Market analysts said uptick in demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot markets kept lead prices higher in futures trade but weak global cues limited the gains.
