At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in February edged higher by 80 paise, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 167.95 per kg in a business turnover of 417 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in March contracts was trading higher by 70 paise, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 168.15 per kg in 7 lots.
Market analysts said increase in positions by traders due to rising demand from battery-makers in the physical market kept lead prices up.
