Lead falls by 0.8% on low demand

In thin trading, lead fell 0.80% to Rs 118.35 per kg in futures trade today after participants reduced exposure amid a weak trend at the spot market on sluggish domestic demand.

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June shed 95 paise, or 0.80%, to Rs 118.35 per kg in a business turnover of 16 lots.

In a similar manner, the metal for delivery in July month eased by 85 paise,or 0.71%, to Rs 119.40 per kg in a volume of 16 lots.

Marketmen said besides subdued demand from battery-makers in the domestic spot market, profit-booking at current levels by speculators weighed on lead futures here.
