Lead futures strengthened by 0.19% to Rs 106.75 per kg today as speculators built up bets on rising demand in the domestic spot market and a firming trend overseas.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in November was trading higher by 20 paise, or 0.19%, at Rs 106.75 per kg, with a turnover of 178 lots.
The metal for delivery in December edged higher by 15 paise, or 0.14%, to Rs 107.70 per kg, in a business volume of four lots.
Marketmen said that apart from pick-up in domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers, gains in select base metals at the London Metal Exchange supported the upside in lead futures here.
