Amid rising domestic demand and a firm global trend, lead prices advanced by 0.24 per cent to Rs 127 per kg in futures market today as traders enlarged positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July edged up by 30 paise or 0.24 per cent to Rs 127 per kg in business turnover of 331 lots.
The metal for delivery in August contracts traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 127.80 per kg in 9 lots.
Analysts said besides rising demand from battery makers in the spot market amid a firm trend overseas, kept lead prices higher at futures trade.
