Lead prices edged up by 0.26 per cent to Rs 157.05 per kg in futures market today as speculators built up positions, driven by uptick in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in November edged up by 40 paise, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 157.05 per kg in a business turnover of 4,088 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in December traded higher by 40 paise, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 157.65 per kg in 133 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions created by traders due to pick-up in demand from battery-makers in the physical market, mainly led to a rise in lead prices at futures trade.
