Taking positive cues from global market and rising demand at domestic spot markets, lead futures rose 0.98% to Rs 124.15 per kg today as participants enlarged their exposure.
Lead for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 1.20, or 0.98%, to Rs 124.15 per kg, with a turnover of 225 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
The metal for delivery in June gained Re 1, or 0.81%, to Rs 124.80 per kg in a business volume of 31 lots.
Market analysts said that apart from domestic demand, particularly from battery-makers, the metal's gain in overseas market influenced lead prices in futures trade.
