Lead prices drifted further lower by 0.81 per cent to Rs 134.50 per kg in futures trade today as traders trimmed their positions, driven by weak demand at spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June month fell by Rs 1.10, or 0.81 per cent, to Rs 134.50 per kg in business turnover of 3,926 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May contracts shed Re 1, or 0.74 per cent, to Rs 133.25 per kg in 6,095 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by speculators due to subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly led to decline in lead prices at futures trade.
