Lead prices fell further by 0.22 per cent to Rs 156.45 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in reducing positions, tracking a weak trend at the spot market on tepid demand.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in November traded lower by 35 paise, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 156.45 per kg in a business turnover of 703 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in December weakened by 30 paise, or 0.19 per cent, to Rs 155.55 per kg in 6,202 lots.
Marketmen said offloading of positions by traders due to subdued demand from battery-makers in the physical market, kept lead prices down at futures trade.
