Taking positive cues from the spot markets on uptick in demand, lead prices were up by 0.15 per cent to Rs 138.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators built up fresh position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January edged up by 20 paise, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 138.10 per kg, in a business turnover of 322 lots.
However, the metal for delivery in February held steady at Rs 138.50 per kg in six lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in lead prices at futures trade to pick up in demand from battery-makers.
