Lead futures rise 0.26% as demand picks up

Lead prices rose by 0.26 per cent to Rs 113.80 per kg in futures trade today as participants enlarged their positions due to pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in far-month June edged up by 30 paise, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 113.80 per kg in business turnover of 82 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May contracts traded higher by 20 paise, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 112.85 per kg in 802 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in lead futures to increasing of positions by traders after pick-up in demand from battery-makers in the spot market.
