Lead futures rise 0.26% on spot demand

Lead prices inched up by 0.26 per cent to Rs 152.25 per kg in futures market today as speculators raised their bets, driven by rising demand in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in May edged up by 40 paise, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 152.25 per kg in a business turnover of 226 lots.

On similar lines, the metal for delivery in far-month June contracts enquired higher by 25 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 152.60 per kg in 26 lots.

Market analysts said expanding of positions by traders due to soaring demand from battery makers in the physical market influenced lead futures.
