Lead futures shed 0.15% on profit-booking

Lead prices weakened by 0.15 per cent to Rs 161.25 per kg in futures market today as speculators booked profit, driven by muted demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in January declined by 25 paise, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 161.25 per kg in a business turnover of 7 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in December contracts eased by 20 paise, or 0.12 per cent, to Rs 161.20 per kg in 672 lots.
Analysts said easing demand from battery makers in the spot market also weighed.
