Lead prices slipped 0.67 per cent to Rs 125.75 per kg in futures trade today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak trend in base metals overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in current month fell 85 paise, or 0.67 per cent, to Rs 125.75 per kg, in a business turnover of 224 lots.
Metal for delivery in October month contracts also fellby a similar margin to trade at Rs 126.40 per kg, in a business turnover of 7 lots.
According to analysts, low demand from battery-makers in the spot market, and weaness in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange kept pressure on lead futures.
