Lead prices were trading down 0.91 per cent to Rs 157.05 per kg amid muted domestic demand in futures trading today as participants trimmed exposure along with a weak trend in base metals overseas.
Lead for November declined by Rs 1.45, or 0.91 per cent, to Rs 157.05 per kg in a business turnover of 677 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December shed Rs 1.35, or 0.85 per cent, to Rs 158 per kg in 76 lots.
Marketmen said the fall in lead futures was triggered by a weak trend at the domestic spot markets due to sluggish demand from consuming industries, particularly battery-makers and squaring up of positions by participants ahead of expiry of the November series on Thursday.
