Lead prices slipped 0.95 per cent to Rs 114.75 per kg in futures trading today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in October fell Rs 1.10, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 114.75 per kg in a business turnover of 583 lots.

The November contract lost Re 1, or 0.86 per cent, to Rs 115.85 per kg in 12 lots.

Marketmen said besides sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange after signs of slowing growth in China, the world's biggest metal consumer kept pressure on lead prices.
