Amid sluggish domestic demand and a weak trend overseas, lead prices softened 0.48% to Rs 114.20 per kg in futures trade today.

At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in November month moved down by 55 paise, or 0.48% to Rs 114.20 per kg in business turnover of 18 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in October contract shed 45 paise, or 0.40% to Rs 113.05 per kg in 710 lots.

Analysts said besides sluggish demand from battery makers in the spot market, a weak trend in base metals overseas as demand is expected to continue to weaken in China despite the central bank's decision to cut interest rates for sixth time in a year, influencing lead prices at futures trade.
