Lead prices drifted lower by 0.51 per cent to Rs 147 per kg in futures trade Monday as speculators cut down their positions, taking negative cues from spot market on easing demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in September declined by 75 paise, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 147 per kg in a business turnover of 268 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in October contracts shed 70 paise, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 147.70 per kg in 12 lots.
Analysts said offloading of positions by traders on the back of sluggish demand from battery makers in the physical market, weighed on lead prices in futures trade.
