Lead prices eased by 0.62 per cent to Rs 161.40 per kg in futures market today as speculators cut down positions amid subdued demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in December shed Re 1, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 161.40 per kg in a business turnover of 4 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in December contracts traded lower by 70 paise, or 0.43 per cent to Rs 161.30 per kg in 1,292 lots.
Analysts attributed the weakness in lead prices at futures to tepid demand from battery makers at the spot market.
