Tracking a firming trend at the domestic markets on better demand, lead futures traded higher by 0.56 per cent to Rs 152.30 per kg today on increased positions created by speculators.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in the current month traded higher by 85 paise, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 152.30 per kg in a business turnover of 13,227 lots.
The metal for delivery in March was up by 7 paise, or 0.49 per cent to trade at Rs 152.85 per kg in 537 lots.
Market analysts said that better demand from battery-makers in spot market mainly helped lead prices trade a shade higher in futures market but a weak trend in base metals overseas limited the gains.
