Lead futures rose 0.89% to Rs 118.95 per kg today on strong demand at domestic spot markets amid a firming trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 1.05, or 0.89%, to Rs 118.95 per kg in a turnover of just one lot.

The metal for delivery in April rose 45 paise, or 0.38%, to Rs 117.65 per kg in a turnover of 122 lots.

Traders said besides good demand from battery-makers, a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME), influenced lead futures here.
