During the trial in 20-year-old Rajendra Mirdha abduction case here yesterday, the Mahanagar Additional Session Judge hearing the case, too, expressed concern over the uranium going amiss from police possession, Dudi said quoting a statement from the court proceeding.
The material can be used in making a nuclear bomb, he said adding that the ASJ has also said that an independent body should probe the matter as to how can uranium go missing from police seize.
"The state government (police department) has already submitted a letter to this effect in the court earlier, on which the judge made the observations," he said.
Stating that the matter concerned national security, Dudi said the police department's officers and employees be made accountable on this issue.
