'Leaders should exercise restraint while making statements'

Former BJP ideologue and social activist K N Govindacharya today said leaders of all political parties should exercise restraint while making statements in order to strengthen democracy.
"Political leaders should exercise restrain especially during poll campaigning and while delivering speeches. This will help in strengthening democracy and for parties to gain people's confidence in them," he said while speaking to reporters at an event here.
When asked if the comment was directed at BJP and its leaders, Govindacharya was to quick to respond that his statement was applicable to all parties.
