An upcoming fashion and lifestyle exhibition will bring together India's biggest couturiers as well as indigenous artisans and entrepreneurs.
The show 'Purnam' on July 20 at The Ashoka here, will feature works by exhibitors from Dubai, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, alongside beautiful products from Hisar and Varanasi.
Among the participating leading couturiers will be Madhu Jain, Sonam Dubal, Samant Chauhan, Rina Dhaka and Charu Parashar who will be showcasing their designs at a special designer lounge.
There will be Jain's rare bamboo silk ikat creations, as will be Dhaka's glamorous silhouettes and Parashar's chic resort wear.
"Purnam takes pride not only in supporting emerging entrepreneurs but also giving back to the society by supporting credible and local NGOs. The exhibition provides a free platform to NGOs to sell the creative products made by the communities they support," organisers said.
The exhibition will also feature a solo show by artist Kanchan Chander whose kitsch, canvas and mixed media works will be on display.
Sequins, Swarovski stones, lace wrapping and other found objects make their way into her art in two series - the "Devi" series, inspired by the temple sculptures of India; and "Bollywood", an ode to the tragedy queens translating as her own hidden desire to work in cinema.
