"We will launch two movements between September 9 and 10, one on power tariff hike and another on dilly-dallying on the part of the state government to ensure food security," Left front chairman Biman Bose told reporters.
The Left Front last week had organised two successful political programmes - a march to the state secretariat by the Left's peasants wing and the second, the September 2 general strike called by trade unions.
"The SEC is acting as a stooge of the TMC. The TMC doesn't have any faith in the democracy and that is why they are adopting various means to subvert it," Bose alleged.
An LF delegation yesterday met State Election Commission S R Upadhyay and submitted a memorandum demanding that the elections be held on October 3.
The delegation rued that though the state government had earlier decided that the elections would be held on October 3, it had not notified the same and that the SEC had also not issued any notification for filing of nomination.
