"Whither global 'war on terror'? Baghdad, Beirut and now Paris. Reprehensible; innocent lives lost. Strongly condemn. @cpimspeak," CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury said on twitter.
His CPI(ML) counterpart Dipankar Bhattacharjee also expressed grief and solidarity with the people of France.
"Stand in solidarity with the people of France to share their grief & defend liberty & fraternity in the wake of the ghastly #ParisAttacks," he said.
Over 120 people have been killed in a popular Paris concert hall where attackers seized hostages yesterday in one of at least six terror attacks that unfolded across the city in the deadliest violence the French capital has seen since World War II.
After the attacks, Hollande declared a state of emergency and announced that he was closing the country's borders.
