Left workers in WB are being 'killed under TMC gameplan': Basu
Press Trust of India Kolkata Left Front chairman Biman Bose today alleged that CPI-M workers are being systematically killed by the "goons of Trinamool Congress to wipe out Opposition" from West Bengal.
Attacking the ruling TMC for the killing of former CPI(M) MLA Dilip Sarkar in Burdwan district today, Bose said, "Since 2011 a number of party workers and leaders of CPI-M have been killed by goons of Trinamool Congress as part of a gameplan to wipe out Opposition from the state."
In the Asansol area of Burdwan district alone, 28 persons had been murdered since 2011 and "the area has become a haven for anti-socials", Bose alleged.
"Law and order in the state has gone for a toss. In the backdrop of the panchayat polls such incidents of violence will keep increasing as they are trying to terrorise the masses," Bose said, demanding immediate arrest of Sarkar's killers.
