Leh DEO calls for strict adherence to model code of conduct

Deputy Commissioner of Leh, who is also the District Election Officer (DEO), today held a meeting of all heads of the department of the district and asked them to ensure that there is no violation of the model code of conduct in force in Jammu and Kashmir for the Assembly elections.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Simrandeep Singh asked the officials to ensure that the model code of conduct is strictly adhered to, according to a release.
The code came into force on October 25, 2014 and will be applicable till December 29, 2014.
The DC directed the HODs to make all necessary preparations and give precedence to election-related communications, it said.
Voting for two seats of Ladakh-Leh and Nobra will be held in the first phase of elections along with 15 Assembly segments of seven districts on November 25. The notification for the polls was issued today.
