Chinese tech major Lenovo today said it sold over three million 4G-enabled smartphones in India in the last one year, in line with increasing demand for high-speed Internet services from consumers.
"We are witnessing a strong demand for 4G devices. We have sold over three million 4G devices so far," Lenovo India Director Smartphones Sudhin Mathur told reporters here.
He added that 6,00,000 units of Lenovo and Motorola smartphones were cumulatively sold during the five-day sale on e-commerce marketplace Flipkart last week.
Lenovo had acquired Motorola Mobility in a USD 2.9 billion deal from tech giant Google last year.
According to research firm IDC, 26.5 million smartphones were shipped to India in the second quarter of 2015, up 44 per cent on an year-on-year basis.
Lenovo and Motorola together had a 6 per cent market share, ranking fifth in the tally after Samsung, Micromax, Intex and Lava.

Lenovo today also launched two new 4G handsets -- Vibe P1 and P1m -- priced at Rs 15,999 and Rs 7,999, respectively based on Android Lollipop operating system.
"These handsets showcase our focus on offering consumers the best of battery life along with other high-end features as well," Mathur said.
