Leopard beaten to death in Odisha

A leopard was beaten to death by locals when it strayed into a village from Kuldhia forest in Myurbhanj district today.
The four-year-old cat entered Tikayatpur village under Dukura range of Baripada Forest Division this morning, an officer said.
As the animal ran for shelter, people pelted stones at it, said Sanjay Kumar Swain, Divisional Forest Officer, Baripada.
Finally, the villagers used a net to capture the animal before clubbing it to death, he said.
