A three-month-old leopard cub was rescued from a well near here in North Maharashtra, Forest Department officials said today.
The cub, which had accidentally fallen into the water body near village Chapadgaon in Nashik district on Wednesday, was safely pulled out yesterday, they said.
Villagers informed the Forest Department officials after they spotted the big cat. Water was taken out from the well with the help of a pump and a cage was lowered inside accompanied with Forest Department workers. The workers put the cub in the cage which was then taken out with the help of a crane, they said.
