"The leopard got hold of Gopal late last night, while he was asleep with his mother on a cot in their house compound," Dhar Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Gaurav Choudhary said.
"Though Gopal's mother raised an alarm and cried for help, the leopard dragged the infant to a drain two kms away from the spot and killed him," the DFO added.
After getting information, an animal rescue team from Indore was rushed to Mandu. The team set up a cage and the leopard was captured, Choudhary said.
