The three-year-old leopardess with serious injury marks of a wire on her hind portion was found by forest guards when they were patrolling the area yesterday, they said.
However, all the organs of the leopardess were intact.
A postmortem of the wild cat has revealed that she died of injuries, it received after being caught in the snare.
Efforts are on by the forest department to track down the culprits, who put the snare in the area to catch the leopardess.
